The British Columbia Assessment Program: An Overview

This paper examines the organization and impact of the British Columbia Assessment Program. A series of historical events which have influenced the development of the B.C. Assessment Program are discussed. The paper reviews specific follow-up actions to the assessment program at both the provincial and school district level. Difficulties encountered in the design and implementation of assessment programs are examined.
