There are a number of teaching methods specifically intended to promote cognitive and motor learning, and which contribute to the development of the individual's personality. Very few of these methods, however, have been developed to assist learning in the socio-affective domain. The present study attempts to elaborate and validate a taxonomy of instructional objectives for teaching co-operation, collaboration with peers, and evaluation of and by peers using a group of 12-13-year-old boys. This taxonomy is specifically relevant to the area of physical education — an area particularly suited to fostering the development of the person as a whole. Motor behaviour is here regarded as the overt expression of an individual's personality.
