Behar and Stringfield's (1974) Preschool Behavior Questionnaire was translated to French to assess behavior problems of preschool children in French immersion classes for immigrant children in Montreal. A sample of 825 children from 66 different countries, speaking 30 different languages were assessed by 50 teachers. Results are similar to those obtained by Behar and Stringfield with a sample of regular preschool children. Teachers reported more maladjusted behaviour from boys than from girls, from five years old than from six years old, and from negrid children than from europid or mongolid children. Middle-aged teachers (31 to 46 years old) reported more maladjusted behaviour from children than older (47 to 59 years old) and younger (22 to 30 years old)
