Résumé

Les phénomènes de probabilité confèrent parfois aux mythes un fondement empirique. Certains classifieraient comme tel les études faites à partir de « Aptitude-Treatment-Interactions » (ATIs). Les ATIs sont fort utiles pour décrire, planifier et mettre en oeuvre les programmes d'enseignement; de plus, ils exercent un certain attrait auprès de ceux qui les utilisent. Cependant, on a trouvé bien peu d'interactions dysfonctionnelles et celles-ci ne s'appliqueraient qu'à une portion minime de la population. Considérant qu'une approche à cible multiple n'engendre que des résultats limités, on suggère ici de restreindre les champs de recherche en ATI tout en mettant l'accent sur la multiplication de ces expériences et en tenant compte des effets que peut avoir une population plus large sur les résultats.
