Résumé

Cet article tente de prévoir à court terme l'avenir des facultés d'éducation canadiennes, en utilisant un modèle basé sur l'analyse des structures d'organisation de ces facultés. On nous présente quelques types de situations désastreuses qui trouvent leurs explications à l'intérieur même de leurs structures. Ces scénarios représentent divers courants qu'il serait possible d'éviter en appliquant simplement quelques corrections (mesures compensatoires). Les scénarios montrant une situation à son meilleur, sont présentés comme divers modèles vers lesquels les universités peuvent tendre. Dans la perspective de cette étude, il est possible d'aller au-delà des beaux mots (belles théories) ou des changements de tactique qui nous préoccupent, pour nous concentrer surtout sur des choix entre les diverses possibilités stratégiques impliquant pour une grande part, différents engagements.
