Toward the Construction of a School Environment Instrument: A Conceptual Framework

Au milieu de la complexité croissante et du remue-ménage qui caractérisent le milieu des écoles publiques, il est étrange que l'on fasse si peu d'efforts pour en évaluer systématiquement les conséquences sur le fonctionnement des écoles. Basé sur la documentation disponible, cet article veut présenter une matrice bi-dimensionnelle qui comprendra d'une part, des facteurs tirés des domaines macro-politique, économique, social, et culturel ayant des effets restrictifs sur le fonctionnement des écoles et, d'autre part, des attributs environnementaux - taux de changement, complexité, organisation, routine (certitude), et absence d'ambiguïté - qui peuvent décrire ces facteurs externes en termes identifiés. Même si nous sommes limités par le fait que tous les facteurs pertinents ne sont pas tous inclus, le modèle permet d'établir un instrument de 40 points à orientation dynamique universelle et la possibilité de construire une représentation graphique concrète de la taille des contraintes externes qui pèsent sur l'école afin de faire une analyse en longitude et d'après la culture.
